Live 105 Showcase & Creative Flow on days off

Let me start off with something that everyone can relate to : holy fuck it’s cold outside!! BRRR!! At least it’s sun sun sunny
Now that I have my complaining over with…
Exciting Stuff!!! : This week our music is being played about 30 times on Halifax’s Live 105.5, the Maritimes only Modern Rock Station. We’re part of a showcase at Monte’s Grill on Waverly Road in Dartmouth, we’re playing this Friday with Air Traffic Control!! Tonight I’m moseyin’ on down to the station to record an interview that’s going to be played tomorrow night – so make sure to tune in! I have no idea what kind of questions I’m going to be asked, so it might get pretty interesting.
Today I have the day off of work and I’m pretty pumped about it. It’s great when you have a full day that you can relax and dive into your creativity. I always find it easier to write new songs, read, practice guitar, and write in my journal on days that I have head space to do so. I find myself working on band ‘business’ stuff every day – booking shows, researching radio stations and online media for each city we tour in, making contacts for interviews and features in papers, etc. – but doing this and working my day job and playing shows sometimes leads to lack of practice. I mean real practice. Scales and such. Barely happens these days. I have about 20 new songs that I’ve been working on, and only about half of them are actually done. Anyone want to volunteer to help me with all the business stuff so that I can finish those songs AND practice scales??? Like I said…days off the day job are a BLESSING!
I’m going to leave you with the new Radiohead video – thought it might be fitting with all the talk of radio…get it?! I can’t believe it’s already at over 4 Million Hits! I watched it for the first time last week and there were only 310 views..WOW! Someone please teach me to lose all inhibition and dance like Thom Yorke.
